Worcester Polytechnic Institute is launching an executive PhD program in its business school designed to help senior business leaders build skills in social justice, diversity, and equity, the college announced in a press release Tuesday.
The program aims to help executives become thought leaders in their industries by learning how social justice and equity initiatives contribute to a company’s vision.
“The executive PhD program will ensure leadership professionals have the critical skills necessary to make meaningful contributions in the ever-changing global business landscape,” Debora Jackson, dean of The Business School, said in a statement. “Social justice and diversity continue to emerge as critical factors in a company’s vision.”
The PhD program is geared toward C-suite executives who have at least 15 years of experience and is designed to allow students to remain in their current professional roles while attaining the degree. Concentrations for the degree include entrepreneurship, information technology, and operations management.
The first classes will be held in the fall.
