A Worcester Polytechnic Institute computer science student has been awarded $1,000 and is a national finalist for a Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship.
Manasi Vartak of WPI is one of 30 Anita Borg Scholarship finalists nationwide and has been invited to attend the annual Google scholars’ retreat at Google in California next month.
Google established the Anita Borg scholarship in 2003 to encourage undergraduate and graduate women who are completing degrees in computer science and related fields to excel in computing technology and become role models and leaders in the field.
