WPI Good For Women
Worcester Polytechnic Institute is the 11th best college in the nation for women who want to work in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, according to a ranking by Forbes.com.
WPI said this year's entering class is 34 percent female, the highest percentage in the school's history. Over the past five years, the enrollment of freshmen women has risen 83 percent, and there are now 1,110 female students on campus.
The college said it offers support to women through its Office of Diversity and Women's Programs and other services intended to address the overall lack of women and certain minority groups in the STEM disciplines.
