WPI Forum To Address Economic Challenges

Worcester Polytechnic Institute is dedicating its monthly Venture Forum Tuesday to helping entrepreneurs successfully start businesses in the tough current economy.

The forum will feature three financial experts discussing how to seek and find start-up funding and whether start-ups “without superstar status” can get funding in today’s economy.

The speakers are: Jerry Schaufeld, WPI professor of entrepreneurship, Abbott Weiss, a business consultant and Massachusetts Institute of Technology lecturer, and Paul Tu, principal at the Massachusetts Technology Development Corp., a venture capital firm that invests in the start-up and expansion of early-stage technology companies.

The forum is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at WPI’s campus center Odeum Room at 100 Institute Road in Worcester.
