Worcester Polytechnic Institute has signed an agreement with Connecticut College letting students from the New London school receive joint degrees in environmental engineering from the two schools.
The five-year program announced by WPI lets up to five qualified Connecticut College students complete a bachelor's degree at both schools.
Students in the program will study at Connecticut College their freshmen, sophomore and senior years. During their junior year, they will attend WPI as an exchange student in order to participate in the school's interactive qualifying project, which are a signature program at WPI and a requirement for all undergraduates.
Students will be Connecticut College students for their first four years and then apply for admission to WPI as a bachelor's transfer student for their fifth year.
The program is expected to launch this fall, and will be limited to no more than five students per year until fall 2023, when the program will be reviewed.
