It took longer than expected, but Wormtown Brewery officially will open its expanded location at Patriot Place in Foxborough on Saturday.
Originally scheduled to open last summer at the 4,000-square-foot pop-up space slated for Maynard's Battle Road Brewery, the Worcester brewery took a while to get the Foxborough site renovated.
“All the furniture and lighting was spectacularly delayed,” said Katrina Shabo, Wormtown's marketing director. “Patriot Place lent us furniture for the opening, which was held in October so people could enjoy it during football season.”
With the interior design looking like it should, Shabo said, an official opening was scheduled. It’s been completely renovated to encompass the Wormtown vibe, she said.
“Now, the place looks like we intended,” she said.
In addition to a new white tile bar, large patio, indoor/outdoor fireplace, and three new murals, Wormtown has installed a new brew system to be operational for the start of the year and allow the brewery to offer new beers from its Worcester plant.
The opening weekend will feature beer and ale from 14 draft lines, as well as a wide selection of packaged beer for patrons to purchase and take home. Food offerings include chips and salsa, a cheese board and Aussie meat pies. Customers can have food delivered from other select Patriot Place restaurants.
The grand opening party is slated from noon to 11 p.m. Saturday. The celebration will feature music from artists Billy Leetch, Dezi Garcia, and Scott McGill and a food pop-up from Patriot Place neighbor Capriotti’s.
Founded in 2010, Wormtown Brewery made nearly 25,000 barrels of beer in 2018, making it the fourth largest Central Massachusetts brewery. At Patriot Place, Wormtown faces competition from eateries and bars including Bar Louie, Baristo Cafe Bar, Blue Fin Lounge CBS Sporting Club, Six String Grill & Stage and Twenty8 Foods & Spirits.
