Wormtown Brewery in Worcester named in August the first-ever president in the company’s 12-year history, former Tree House Brewing Co. officer manager Kimberly Golinski.
“From our perspective, when you combine Kim’s skillset with her role running the day to day operation, the title clearly establishes her as a leader at the very top of the brewery,” said Wormtown CEO David Fields on Monday. “While I have no doubt she did not need a title to accomplish this, she certainly deserves it, and we are thrilled to have her join us on this journey.”
Golinski began her job on Aug. 6, Fields said. She replaces outgoing general manager Scott Metzger, who announced in late July he was leaving Wormtown to become chief operating officer of Maui Brewing Co., located in Hawaii.
Her appointment comes after a spate of leadership changes at the company since May, following allegations of workplaces sexual harrassment, racism, and pay discrimination. The allegations came with a flood of similar accusations at craft breweries around Massachusetts and the rest of the country.
Tree House Brewing, based in Charlton, is the largest brewery in Central Massachusetts, with 41,500 barrels brewed in 2020, while Wormtown is the fourth largest — and the largest in Worcester — with 27,913 barrels brewed, according to the WBJ Research Department.
