As Wormtown Brewery works to build out its permanent taproom at Patriot Place in Foxborough, the Worcester beer company will host a pop-up beer garden each weekend until the space is ready.
When Wormtown announced plans for the new taproom in late May, the space was expected to open sometime during the summer.
However, the pop-up beer garden held next to the Renaissance Hotel will run through at least Oct. 6, indicating the build out at the open-air shopping plaza surrounding Gillette Stadium has been progressing slowly.
Wormtown Managing Partner David Fields could not immediately be reached for comment.
Beginning this Sunday, the beer garden will feature yard games, picnic tables, live music and other tailgate-themed draws.
The brewery is taking over an already functioning taproom home to Maynard-based Battle Road Brewery. As part of the deal, Wormtown will take over production of Battle Road’s beer in Worcester and Maynard.
Battle Road occupied the 4,000-square-foot space for last year’s football season.
The new production space will feature a seven-barrel brewing system to allow Wormtown to release more innovative beers.
