World Energy Procures Green Energy For N.H. College
Worcester-based World Energy Solutions said it helped Colby-Sawyer College in New London, N.H., procure more than 10 million kilowatt hours of electricity, for which the college secured renewable energy credits to cover the entire purchase.
Through the purchase of credits, the college expects to reduce its carbon dioxide emissions by 2,554 metric tons per year.
Colby-Sawyer evaluated various terms and products through an online auction run by World Energy that drew multiple suppliers, the company said.
World Energy didn't disclose the final price, but said the college paid 8 percent less than its previous contract.
The 36-month contract starts in August.
