Worcester-based World Energy Solutions celebrated its move to a new location Monday and announced it recently hired its 100th employee.
The energy services management firm’s new headquarters is at 100 Front St., just across the downtown Common from its previous 446 Main St. location. Several area dignitaries spoke at a ribbon-cutting event.
World Energy signed a 10-year lease to inhabit the top floor of the 20-story building, which also contains Mirick O’Connell law offices, a Merrill Lynch branch, Reliant Medical Group offices and the Telegram & Gazette newspaper, among other businesses.
The publicly-traded World Energy has been in Worcester for more than 10 years. Its revenues are at all-time highs, growing 69 percent to $16.2 million for the first half of 2012.
“As someone who joined World Energy when we were just a small crew of overachievers in the basement of the old Worcester police station, it is humbling – and inspiring – to contemplate all we have accomplished together,” CEO Phil Adams said in a statement.
