Energy procurement company World Energy Solutions has connected the city of Haverhill with power for the next two years through its online energy auction.
The city participated in an online energy auction hosted by the Worcester company, resulting in two, 24-month fixed-price contracts for over 44 million kWh of electricity, the company announced Monday. World Energy’s two hour online auction resulted in 114 bids from seven qualified electricity suppliers.
“World Energy significantly increased the competition for the City of Haverhill’s business with a process that not only attracted more suppliers to our procurement event and yielded more aggressive bidding, but also gave us the power to make a more informed energy-purchasing,” Haverhill Mayor James J. Fiorentini said in a statement.
