Working double-time to afford college

A college education is increasingly necessary and unattainable. In a recent survey by Bankrate Inc., 39 percent of parents said they expect to take a second job to pay for their children's college education. Over the last five years, the average tuition at a four-year public university has risen more than 35 percent. While 86 percent of parents surveyed expect their children to attend college, 47 percent of parents said they could not afford to pay for their college education.
