Workers' CU Reports 2009 Growth

Fitchburg-based Workers' Credit Union wrapped up 2009 with $723 million in assets and deposits of $577 million, increases over the previous year of 17.5 percent and 16 percent, respectively.
The credit union made 8,200 loans during the year and its loans outstanding totaled $555 million, a 9 percent increase over 2008. Business lending saw a 10 percent increase over the prior year.
Substantial increases in the usage of electronic banking products were also noted.
Workers' has 65,000 members and 14 branch offices.
