Fitchburg-based Workers’ Credit Union has received an “outstanding” rating for its lending practices from the Massachusetts Division of Banks.
The rating is the highest possible. The Division of Banks said the credit union had a high loan-to-deposit ratio over the past two years and did a good job serving low to moderate income families. According to Workers’, 34 percent of its loans were to low and moderate income households.
The credit union has more than $580 million in assets and operates 13 offices, mainly in North Central Massachusetts.
