Work From Home Common

In 2010, nearly a quarter of employed Americans did some or all of their work from home on the days they worked, according to the latest American Time Use Survey from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Among workers age 25 or over with a bachelor’s degree or higher, 36 percent did some work at home.

The survey found that 35 percent of the employed worked on an average weekend day, while 82 percent worked on an average weekday.

Workers did their jobs for an average of 7.5 hours on the days they worked. Employed men worked 41 minutes longer on average than employed women.
