Worcester’s Greenwood Park receives $3M in improvements

City officials and local residents gathered to celebrate $3 million in improvements to Greenwood Park in Worcester.

The improvements include new tennis courts, a lighted basketball court, playground upgrades, a new shelter, picnic tables and accessible walking paths. More improvements are planned for 2016 at this park located in the Quinsigamond Village Neighborhood of Worcester. The 14.85 acre park also features a public pool and softball field.

The improvements cost about $3 million, including$1.5 million from the city tax levy and $1.5 million from Greenwood Street Landfill Neighborhood Funding.
