Worcester’s Dive Bar is set to close next month after 25 years in operation.
The Dive Bar’s last night in operation will be Nov. 2. The bar has pushed the local beer scene forward under the direction of husband-and-wife owners Alec Lopez and Sherri Sadowski. The bar, along with sister restaurant Armsby Abbey, introduced many in the region to the concept of craft beers as the concept first began to take hold. Both the Dive Bar and Armsby Abbey are known for offering beers that are nearly impossible to obtain locally, such as Vermont-based Hill Farmstead Brewery that does not officially list availability outside of Vermont.
Sadowski confirmed that the Dive Bar would hold a celebration on its last night of operation.
According to a report in Worcester Magazine, the bar will be replaced by a family business at the site when Polar Park is completed in 2021.
Just another reason this park is destroying the city
