Worcester native James R. Boyle has been named president of John Hancock Financial Services, the U.S. division of Toronto-based Manulife Financial Corp.
Boyle previously served as president of John Hancock’s U.S. Insurance division and, before that, president of the U.S. Wealth Management division. He joined Manulife in 1992 after a stint at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Boyle has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Boston College and is a certified public accountant. He lives in Hingham.
Boyle replaces John D. DesPrez III, who was recently named chief operating officer of Manulife.
