The Worcester Wine Festival, set for September, is expanding for its second year and is now twice as long as the inaugural event last year, organizers said earlier this month.
Last year’s event was only three days, and this year’s festival stretches six days from Sept. 4 through Sept. 9, with different events, in and around the city, the festival announced.
“We were pleased -- on so many levels -- with how the inaugural Worcester Wine Festival came together,” said Ed Russo, owner of Worcester restaurant Lock 50 and a festival organizer.
Like last year, the grand tasting event will be held at the Grand Hall at Union Station on Sept. 8.
Special wine dinners, brunches and other events are planned for the week from Tuesday through Sunday.
Also planned for the second festival are expanded wine offerings, educational programs and a larger VIP experience including more exclusive wines and food.
More details on the event and tickets will be announced later this month.
