The City of Worcester will begin accepting applications for its second COVID-19 Small Business Resiliency Grant Program at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce announced on Thursday.
Applications, which will be available on the City's website, are due by midnight on Wednesday, May 6.
Grants will be capped at $5,000 per business because of limited funding, the chamber said. The City anticipates awarding grants to 160 applicants, for a total of $800,000.
In order to be eligible, applicants must have a physical establishment in a commercial space within the city of Worcester.
Business owners must be low- or moderate-income under U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development guidelines. They must also have experienced a 50% revenue loss because of the coronavirus pandemic and have less than $2 million average gross annual revenue. They must be in good standing with no outstanding tax liens or legal judgments, and not have prior approval for funding through other grant or forgivable loan programs related to coronavirus relief.
