Worcester Wendy’s land sells for $3M

A Wendy’s property on Southbridge Street in Worcester has sold for more than $3 million, or four times its assessed value.

The drive-through fast food restaurant is in the same plaza as a Family Dollar and Commerce Bank. The half-acre site was assessed by the city at $720,400 last year.

The Wendy’s at 702 Southbridge St. was bought by a limited liability company registered to the Worcester law firm Seder & Chandler. The manager of the limited liability company, 702 Southbridge Street Realty, is listed as Jack Gottlieb of 1 Brussels St. in Worcester.

The seller was William J. Zanke, a trustee for the property.

The $3,050,000 sale closed Feb. 15, according to the Worcester Registry of Deeds. The sale includes the land under the Wendy’s, not the restaurant itself.
