Organizations on the state and local levels are drumming up excitement for a nonstop train from Worcester to Boston that is scheduled to make its first trip on Monday.
The HeartToHub will operate twice daily departing Union Station at 8:05 a.m. and travel straight through to Boston, with stops at Yawkey, Back Bay and South Station. In the evening, it will depart South Station at 7:35 p.m. and stop at Back Bay and Yawkey before proceeding directly to Worcester.
The nonprofit Action! Worcester, focused on young professionals, is among the local organizations hyping up the train that will deliver riders from Worcester to Boston in less than an hour. The organization was giving out free tickets earlier this week.
This kind of nonstop service has been called for by Worcester officials for years and is seen by some as key to boosting the prospects of the city.
