The City of Worcester has opened the application window for five business and community programs funded from the $146 million in American Rescue Plan Act money received by the City.
Community projects and programs can apply for up to $250,000 for programmatic assistance and up to $1 million for capital improvements. Those interested in this program can attend technical assistance workshops at 6 p.m. on Aug. 18 and Aug. 22 at City Hall or virtually. Live Spanish translation will be provided for this and other languages can be requested.
Small businesses can apply for $5,000 to $11,500 grants to help recover from the coronavirus pandemic.
Owner-occupants of residences can apply for up to $30,000 per eligible unit to address building or sanitary code violations. They may also apply for grants to provide 50% of annual flood insurance premium cost.
Owners of residential properties built prior to 1978 can apply for grants of up to $15,000 per unit to aid in lead-paint abatement.
