Worcester Sharks Attendance Up

Worcester Sharks President Michael A. Mudd has announced that the hockey team saw an 8-percent attendance increase during its sixth season in Worcester, averaging 4,402 fans at the 38 home games.
The American Hockey League (AHL) team reported that over the last two seasons, the Sharks have had an increase of 93 percent for group ticket revenue and have improved individual advanced ticket sales by 75 percent. Overall, the Sharks have experienced 37-percent growth in ticket revenue since the 2009-10 season.
The DCU Center reported nine sellouts, which are games with attendance of more than 5,400, during the 2011-2012 season that ended in April. This included a franchise-record crowd of 10,170 on Feb. 24 for a game against the Providence Bruins.
On average, the AHL saw a 5-percent increase in attendance over the 2010-11 season.
