Worcester Shares In $63M Of Federal Funding

The city of Worcester will receive more than $6 million in funding for four social service programs as part of $63.4 million that members of the Massachusetts delegation to Washington, D.C., announced today for various state programs.

Eighteen communities in Massachusetts will split up the money, including Framingham, Leominster and Worcester.

Worcester will receive:

– $4.1 million in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds.

– $200,000 in Emergency Shelter Grant funds

– $1.76 million in HOME grant funds

– $400,000 in Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS funds.

Framingham will receive $483,000 in CDBG funds, while Leominster will receive $463,000.
