Worcester roofing company buys Providence business
A Worcester roofing contractor announced Friday it purchased a Providence company for an undisclosed amount in a deal that closed June 1.
Greenwood Industries, Inc. of Worcester, which specializes in architectural metal and commercial roofing, purchased Apollo Roofing & Sheet Metal, Inc. of Providence to support its sheet metal manufacturing and roof system construction and replacement. The purchase increases Greenwood’s workforce by 10 percent and adds several key roof maintenance experts and contracts to Greenwood’s roof asset management program, which it said is rapidly growing.
Greenwood operates from Worcester and Freetown, as well as Hartford and North Haven, Conn.
"Apollo has talent, relationships and the geographic location that creates a strategic triangle with our Massachusetts and Connecticut locations,” said Greenwood President David Klein.
