Rent prices in the city of Worcester remained relatively steady from the year prior, rising 1.2% while prices dropped 0.9% throughout Massachusetts, according to a new report from website Apartment List.

The median one-bedroom apartment rent price in Worcester is currently $1,001. The median two-bedroom apartment rent price is $1,276, according to the report released Friday.

Worcester remains more affordable for renters than most large cities, even though Worcester’s median two-bedroom rent price is slightly above the $1,192 national average.

Worcester remains one of the more affordable cities for renters in Massachusetts, among the cities Apartment List had comprehensive data for. For example, the median two-bedroom apartment rent price in Cambridge came in at $2,270, and for Newton that was $2,250. On the other side of the spectrum was Fall River, where the median two-bedroom rental price was $1,060.

For a national comparison, the median two-bedroom rent price in San Francisco was nearly three times that of Worcester’s, coming in at $3,030. For New York, that figure was $2,520. On the lower end of the spectrum were cities Phoenix and Detroit, where median two-bedroom rent prices were $1,100 and $900, respectively.

Nationally, rent prices rose 0.2% over the last 12 months, according to the report.
