Worcester Regional Airport has been allocated just over $1.3 million of the $48 million funneling into Massachusetts airports through the federal Airport Infrastructure Grants program, the state’s congressional delegation announced in a press release on Friday.
The grant program is part of the federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which Congress passed on Nov. 6, and can be used on runways, taxiways, safety and sustainability projects, terminals, airport-transit connections, and roadway projects, according to a press release distributed by Sen. Elizabeth Warren.
Fitchburg Municipal Airport was allocated $295,000, and Southbridge Municipal Airport was allocated $159,000 through the program. Gardner Municipal Airport was given $110,000.
