Worcester ranks behind Springfield, Boston in best places to live U.S. News report

According to a new national ranking of best places to live, Worcester is still behind Boston and Springfield, but ahead of Providence, R.I. and New Haven, Conn.
The U.S. News & World Report ranking, released Tuesday, lists Worcester at No. 62 out of 125 U.S. cities.
First on the list is Austin, Texas, and last is San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Worcester was applauded for its affordability, job market, healthcare accessibility, dining and education, but its crime rate is above the national average, the report said.
“With its affordable housing, green parks, quality hospitals and proximity to a dozen highly esteemed colleges and universities, there is a unique vitality to this metro area,
U.S. News wrote in its summary of Worcester.
Overall, the city earned a score of 6.5 out of 10, while Boston, ranked 25th, earned a 6.9 and Springfield also earned a 6.5 while taking home the 59th spot.
