Worcester Railers to buy, give away $36K in small business gift cards

The Worcester Railers Hockey Club will purchase $1,000 worth of gift cards each to 36 Central Mass. businesses, as part of a small business stimulus power play program, the organization announced in a press release on Tuesday.
The selected businesses will be highlighted at one of the Railers' 36 home games at the DCU Center in Worcester next season, where the gift certificates will be given away to attending fans.
Railers fans may nominate their favorite small businesses online or on social media using the hashtag #RailersStimulusPowerPlay. Nominations will be considered through noon on April 29.
Winning businesses will be announced on May 1.
