The property housing the Price Chopper supermarket location at 29 Sunderland Road in Worcester has sold for $4.1 million, less than two years after it was sold to a Miami investment group for $4 million.
The buyer is an entity registered to Richard Almonte, Almonte Massa LLC of Hewlett, N.Y., according to the Worcester District Registry of Deeds.
The sale of the property doesn’t necessarily mean the Price Chopper business itself was sold. A property transfer like this typically means the business’s landlord is changing.
In November 2020, Orion Real Estate Group of Miami purchased the site for $4 million.
The nearly five-acre site was sold in 2016 for $4.9 million to Richport Management, LLC of Illinois.
The property is assessed by the City of Worcester at just less than $4.3 million.
I worked in this building in the late 70's thru the mid 80's it was the Bid Discount. Was in good shape then but the building is old now. The wooden fence around the parking lot hasn't changed either!
