As Worcester continues to dig out from Friday's fierce winter storm, a parking ban remains in effect.
That means there is no parking allowed on either side of the main streets, bus routes and downtown streets to allow room for snow-removal crews to work. Parking is allowed on the odd-numbered side of all other streets unless otherwise posted.
According to the city, vehicles that violate the ban will be ticketed and towed at the owner's expense.
Through the beginning of the week, Department of Public Works and Parks crews will continue to scrape snow off the roads, widen roadways and clear corners of intersections as well as salt and sand roadways.
The city has asked residents and business owners to clear catch basins and drains to allow for street runoff to get in and to also clear snow from fire hydrants.
According to Unitil's outage map, the utility company had no reported power outages in North Central Massachusetts, where it has customers. National Grid showed a few outages each in Worcester and Southborough, with the majority of its 23,600 outages being in the southeastern part of the state.
Calls for city response, to assist with snow removal in roadways and downed tree limbs without wires can be directed to the city's customer service center at 508-929-1300.
