The average price of a gallon of regular gasoline in Greater Worcester dropped by 3 cents since last week but remains well above the average a month ago.
The average price in Worcester is $3.36, up from $3.25 from the same day in January, according to the travel association AAA. This is the second straight week of the average falling after dropping 2 cents last week.
“Drivers may have a little more in their wallets as we head toward Valentine’s Day,” Mary Maguire, AAA Northeast vice president of public and government affairs, said in a Monday press release. “If gas demand and oil costs remain low, drivers will likely see pump prices drop through next week.”
The average price in Massachusetts is $3.38, higher than neighboring states Rhode Island at $3.36 and Connecticut at $3.31.
