A portion of a commercial lot at 1059 Grafton St. in Worcester was sold for $775,000 to a company planning to build a car wash at the property.
Parcel A of the property is home to A.P. Fish Co., owned by the Pizzarella family, and will continue to operate. Parcel B was sold to 1059 Grafton Street LLC, registered to Boston law firm Bass, Doherty & Finks.
The buyer will build a 4,000-square-foot car wash on the site with a 120-foot tunnel. A portion of the property behind the site of the future car wash is zoned residential and will be kept as open space as a buffer between the car wash and the neighborhood behind it.
The sale was completed on Friday, according to a press release from Worcester broker NAI Glickman Kovago & Jacobs, whose Vice President Jeff Borus represented the seller, Pizzarella Irrevocable Trust.
“It was a lengthy process, with both parties working in a highly professional way with each other and the community to advance the project,” said Borus.
The property in its entirety was last sold to Pizzarella in 2017 for $890,000, according to the Worcester District Registry of Deeds.
