A Holden insurance agency has become part of a larger group of Worcester-based agencies.
Sullivan, Garrity & Donnelly (SG&D) of Worcester announced it has acquired the Walter Henry Agency of Holden as of Jan. 1, along with the Fredericks Agency of Osterville. The Henry agency, founded in 1952, has about 1,000 clients, according to Patrick Diggins, a principal with SG&D.
SG&D also includes Marshall & Diggins, a Worcester agency that is marking its centennial this year.
Patrick Diggins said the acquisition of the Henry agency was “sort of a natural for us” because of its location in the Worcester area, plus the fact that SG&D has known members of the Henry family for several years.
Diggins said Henry clients are being notified by mail this week.
About 65 percent of SG&D clients hold personal insurance policies while roughly 35 percent are corporate customers, Diggins said.
