A Leominster developer of retail stores and plazas has bought the Worcester headquarters of the Girl Scouts.
Lisciotti Development paid $1.25 million for 79-81 Gold Star Blvd., two buildings sitting amid a heavily trafficked commercial corridor, across the street from a Chick-fil-A and behind a Shaw's grocery store.
The Girl Scouts of Central and Western Massachusetts, which owned the buildings, is planning a new facility at 1 Century Drive in North Worcester. Until that facility is complete, which is expected in the spring, it is located in a temporary space at 1 W. Boylston St., a short walk from the Gold Star Boulevard site.
The two single-story buildings, with a combined 11,000 square feet, were last assessed at a combined $1.25 million.
The sale closed Nov. 30.
Lisciotti says its portfolio includes a wide array of retailers, including CVS, Dick's Sporting Goods, Bank of America and Chipotle Mexican Grill.
The company did not immediately return a request for comment on its plans for the Girl Scouts property, but NAI Glickman Kovago & Jacobs, a Worcester real estate firm that represented the Girl Scouts in the transaction, said Wednesday that the developer's plans are to raze the two existing buildings and build an 8,750 square-foot retail building for multiple tenants.
