Worcester Firm Helps Government Save $3.5M

The federal General Services Administration‘s Northeast office used Worcester’s World Energy Solutions to procure about $3.5 million in energy savings by using 95 percent renewable energy sources.

The GSA, which handles government procurements, will purchase about 217 million kilowatt hours of electricity from renewable sources during the next four years.

World Energy Solutions, which is an online energy exchange firm, helped the GSA purchase the contracts through the company’s World Energy Exchange. The contracts begin on May 1.
