Worcester details 300th anniversary plans

Union Station in Worcester

City of Worcester officials have unveiled a preliminary schedule for Tercentennial Weekend, an event celebrating the 300th anniversary of the founding of Worcester, which is scheduled for this June.

The event will include a road race, parade, festival, and other activities throughout the weekend of June 10.

“We look forward to celebrating with and among all our residents and showing the world why Worcester is both the Heart of New England and the birthplace of the Smiley Face,” said Mayor Joseph Petty, in a press release.

Additionally, art festival stART on the Street will make a return for the event, following a two-year hiatus, and the Worcester Historical Society will present a new exhibit titled Whose Worcester Was It.
