The site of the Worcester Surgical Center at 300 Grove St. has sold for $9 million to a local orthodontist and entrepreneur Sam Alkhoury.
The sale was for the property only, and the site will remain as medical offices, said Drew Higgins of Worcester real estate brokerage Kelleher & Sadowsky Associates, Inc., who brokered the deal, along with James Umphrey.
The seller of 300 Grove St. was a corporation registered to James Madigan and Francis Madigan III of construction firm F.W. Madigan Co. Inc. in Worcester, according to the Worcester District Registry of Deeds. The Madigan corporation purchased the property in 2017 for $8.5 million.
Alkoury’s purchase of the property closed on Friday.
Alkhoury founded Worcester’s Simply Orthodontics in 2005 and has grown his business through the years to include more than a dozen locations across New England. He owns several medical and dental professional properties in Central Massachusetts.
