Worcester County has recorded 13 new coronavirus cases and three fatalities Monday, according to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
The new cases add to the 12,143 in the county since the beginning of the pandemic. Throughout Massachusetts, there were a reported 149 new probable and confirmed cases bringing the total to 107,218. In comparison, there were 136 confirmed and 13 probable cases.
New fatalities in Worcester County increase the overall death toll to 903. Statewide, there were 17 confirmed coronavirus deaths with 7,874 to date.
DPH reported 7,056 newly administered coronavirus tests on Monday.
The City of Worcester reported 47 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, bringing the total to 5,115. The city’s next update will be on Thursday.
UMass Memorial Health and Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester reported 58 inpatients, including 16 in the ICU.
MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham and Natick reported 28 suspected and confirmed cases and Milford Regional Medical Center reports 14. In total, the hospitals recorded three suspected and confirmed cases in intensive care. Other Central Massachusetts hospitals such as Heywood Hospital, and Health Alliance in Leominster reported 10 suspected and confirmed cases and five in the ICU.
Nationally, there are now more than 2.3 million cases and 120,402 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University in Maryland. Globally, coronavirus cases have exceeded 9.1 million with 472,737 fatalities.
