Worcester County passed the 10,000-case coronavirus total Friday, and there have been 12 new deaths, according to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
As of Friday, there was a small increase of 104 new cases extending the total to 10,101. Statewide, there was also a slight decrease in the daily case numbers with 805 new cases bringing the total to 90,889. That represents a large drop compared to the 1,114 new cases reported Thursday.
New Worcester County and statewide totals Friday were each the lowest day-to-day totals since May 11.
The new fatalities in Worcester County increased the total death count to 652, and there were a reported 80 new deaths in Massachusetts increasing the total to 6,228.
DPH also reported 10,158 new coronavirus tests administered with 511,644 to date.
The City of Worcester reported 86 new cases adding to the total 3,846.
UMass Memorial Health Care and Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester reported a decrease in cases on Friday. The two hospitals had 210 patients, which is 29 less cases compared to Thursday, and 82 in intensive care. There have been 241 total fatalities overall at their hospitals, and 306 employees have tested positive for the virus between the hospitals.
MetroWest Medical Center in Natick and Framingham reported 75 suspected and confirmed cases, and Milford Regional Medical Center reported 24, according to DPH. Harrington Hospital, Heywood Hospital, and HealthAlliance in Leominster had 39 combined confirmed or suspected cases, and 10 in intensive care.
Nationally, there are almost 1.6 million cases, and close to 96,000 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University in Maryland. Globally, there are more than 5.1 million cases, and 335,993 fatalities.
