Worcester County recorded 103 new coronavirus cases and eight deaths Friday, according to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
The new cases Friday contribute to the 10,816 total cases in Worcester County. Statewide, there were 617 new cases adding to the 95,512 overall.
Friday's new deaths increased the death toll to 746 in Worcester County, and there were 78 new fatalities statewide bringing the total to 6,718.
DPH on Friday reported 9,422 new coronavirus tests administered with a total of 571,745 performed.
Reported cases in the city of Worcester increased by 42, bringing the total to 4,102.
UMass Memorial Health Care and Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester had another decrease in cases with 166, which is 23 less than Thursday. There were six less cases in the ICU, with a total of 61 Friday. The hospitals have had 271 total coronavirus deaths to date, and 329 employees have tested positive.
MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham and Natick reported 43 total confirmed or suspected cases, and Milford Regional Medical Center reported 21, according to DPH. There were 15 patients in intensive between the hospitals. Heywood Hospital, Harrington Hospital, and HealthAlliance in Leominster report 25 confirmed or suspected cases, and seven in intensive care.
Nationally, there are now 1.7 million cases, and almost 103,000 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University in Maryland. Globally, there are close to 5.9 million cases, and roughly 363,210 fatalities.
