Worcester County Personal Income Rose In 2010

After dipping in 2009, personal income in Worcester County rebounded in 2010 – growing $1.29 billion, or 3.8 percent – according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis.

Personal income is a measure of the income of all persons from all sources.

The growth means Worcester County recovered from the 1.8 percent decline it experienced between 2008 and 2009. Middlesex County, which experienced a steeper drop during that year (4.7 percent), saw its personal income grow to $91.49 billion, an increase of $3.02 billion (3.4 percent) from 2009. It failed to surpass its 2008 figure, which was $92.83 billion.

The BEA classifies the two counties as “large” (more than 250,000 residents). Across the country, large counties averaged personal income growth of 3.7 percent.
