Worcester County single-family home sales were down 24% year-over-year in July and 25.5% year-to-date versus 2022.
A lack of inventory continues to be the main cause of the plummeting sales, Cassidy Norton, associate publisher and media relations director of Peabody-based real estate data firm The Warren Group, said in a Tuesday press release from the company.
Prices remain high above pre-COVID levels in Worcester County, though they are increasing at a lower rate than in 2022. In July, the median price of a single-family home in Worcester County was $450,000, up 1% year-over-year. Prices have increased 3.7% year to date.
Statewide in Massachusetts, the median price of a single-family home sold in July was $610,000, an all-time high for the month of July, according to The Warren Group.
