Another 130 Worcester County coronavirus cases were reported Wednesday, along with two additional deaths.
The fatalities included a woman in her 80s with pre-existing conditions and a woman in her 60s who officials said they weren't sure of pre-existing conditions making her more susceptible to the virus.
The latest numbers from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health puts the county's total case number at 563, a one-day jump of 30%. Statewide, cases hit 7,738, a one-day jump of 1,118, or 17%.
Deaths rose by another 33 in Massachusetts, hitting 122.
The city of Worcester itself has reported 165 cases, including six first responders. UMass Memorial Medical Center had 20 patients in critical care and 48 in total on an inpatient basis, along with 55 under investigation for coronavirus as of Thursday. The hospital has had 32 employees test positive.

Numbers have continued rising dramatically in Massachusetts and across the country in recent days as public health officials predict a continued spike for a few more weeks. A University of Washington prediction has estimated Massachusetts cases will peak somewhere between April 7 and April 17, though until then, cases continue rising fast.
Two weeks ago, on March 18, the state had 256 cases and 10 in Worcester County. There weren't any reported deaths.
Case numbers have been rising as tests have become more prevalent. The Department of Public Health reported 4,803 new tests conducted for a total of 51,738.
Nationally, cases have grown to more than 206,000 with 4,500 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University in Maryland. Worldwide, cases have surpassed 921,000 and 46,000 deaths.
