Another 38 coronavirus cases were reported over the weekend with 14 new fatalities in Worcester County, according to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
Sunday recorded 14 new cases in Worcester County, the lowest since March 23. The new cases increase the total to 11,975. New fatalities over the weekend in Worcester County add to the total death toll of 870.
Statewide, confirmed and probable cases increased by 544 contributing to the 105,611 overall. Throughout Massachusetts, probable and confirmed deaths increased by 86 with 7,624 total.
DPH also reported coronavirus tests administered increased by 21,070 over the weekend.
As of Thursday, the city of Worcester had a reported 5,068 coronavirus cases. The next report by the city will be made on Thursday.
UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester had a reported 40 inpatient cases, including 19 in intensive care. Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester had 27 inpatient cases and six in the ICU.
MetroWest Medical Center in Natick and Framingham reported 21 suspected and confirmed cases Sunday, and Milford Regional Medical Center reported 10. In total the hospitals had seven suspected or confirmed cases in intensive care. Harrington Hospital, Heywood Hospital, and Health Alliance in Leominster reported a total 13 confirmed or suspected cases and four in the ICU.
Nationally, there are more than 2 million cases and roughly 115,732 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University in Maryland. Globally, coronavirus cases have exceeded 7.9 million and fatalities have increased to around 434,000 overall.
