Worcester chapter of American Red Cross picks Rennix as new executive

American Red Cross of Central and Western Mass. has named Springfield nonprofit leader Nia Rennix as its new executive director, the organization announced on Thursday.

“Nia’s background, connections and commitment to serving the community make her an excellent choice,” American Red Cross chapter CEO Holly Grant said in a statement. “Nia will help the Red Cross build and maintain strong relationships within central and western Massachusetts counties.”

Prior to joining Red Cross, Rennix served as the director of emergency pantry and food programs at Open Pantry Community Services in Springfield, according to the announcement.

Rennix holds a bachelor of arts degree in political science from Western New England University, a bachelor’s of science in clinical nutrition from New York University/Saint Joseph College, and a master’s degree in political science/health care policy from Miami University. 

She lives in Springfield.
