The Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Diverse Professionals Roundtable has developed a new Emerging Leader Award, bestowing it on three Worcester business leaders, the organization announced Wednesday.
The awardees are:
- Abel Travis, assistant vice president and head of commercial lines product management at The Hanover Insurance Group (Travis also won WBJ's 40 Under Forty award this week)
- Bonnie Walker, executive director for diversity and inclusion strategies at Worcester Polytechnic Institute
- Emma Sandjong, human resources, organization and people development at UMass Memorial Health Care.
The award is given to inspired, motivated and dedicated leaders in their respective field and community, according to the chamber.
“It’s important to recognize up and coming, diverse leaders in our community as well as the business community. We are pleased to have a platform during which we acknowledge these future leaders to congratulate them and let them know that we recognize the outstanding work they are doing,” said Euraysia Williams, owner of Shi Shi’s Salon and chamber board member.
