Worcester Center for Crafts director to retire

Honee Hess, the executive director of the Worcester Center for Crafts, will retire next March, the center announced Tuesday.

Hess has been the head of the group for six years. During that time, she's given the center financial stability, created a youth program, forged institutional relationships in the community, and strengthened the group's alliance with Worcester State University and the Worcester State Foundation, said Sheila Tetler, who chairs the center's board.

"While retirement for Honee is well-deserved, we will absolutely miss her leadership, dedication, and her ability to change challenges into opportunities," Tetler said.

The Worcester Center for Crafts, which holds art classes and artists' studios, has already begun its search for a new executive director. Hess will retire effective March 15.
