Worcester’s Generex Biotechnology Corp. has signed a long-term deal with Merck to market and distribute its products in Mexico.
Under the agreement, Merck will distribute Generex’s Glucose RapidSpray in Mexico as Diabion GlucoShot. The product is a glucose treatment that is delivered in a spray through the inner lining of the mouth.
Merck has about 1,000 employees in Mexico, where it manufactures drugs for the treatment of pain, diabetes and thyroid problems, as well as a variety of other products, including pigments and other ingredients for the cosmetics industry.
Generex’s Glucos RapidSpray is available in the United States, Mexico, Canada and the Middle East. The company is in the process of registering the product for the retail market in other countries as well.
